没人知道事件的真正原因，一种难以查觉的毒性放射性物质正悄悄扩散它的污染范围和程度，受污染致死朝向全欧洲蔓延开来，事件的元凶就是夺命的"恶性毒"。西元2007年，美国政府为了防堵污染禁入美国本土，将初到欧洲移民置於波士顿检疫区中隔离检疫，刚入警界不久的狄伦女警，没想到她先生不幸遇难，检疫区越来越动汤不安，在得不到身份下她另寻它图，毒菌怪物开始在区内发狂的杀人，身上的病毒开始发热，六个小时後毒菌将从身躯爆裂而出，沾上的人都将发狂而死，奉命追捕怪物的狄伦也被怪物困住了，雷米警官带著仅存的小组赶赴支援，他们能任务吗？
