1985年，旧金山。艾滋刚开始爆发，整个城市酝酿着恐慌和不安，随处可见对同性恋的恐惧与歧视。报纸甚至大声质问：“同性恋难道不该被隔离吗？”现代舞蹈团的候补新人弗兰奇（Scott Marlowe 饰）经常被其他成员嘲笑动作柔弱和女性化。唯一没有嘲笑他的是团里的坏男孩托德（Matthew Risch 饰）。性格相反的两人很快成为好朋友，并且发展出更多感情。随着舞蹈团有人因艾滋而退出，弗兰奇开始面对首次登台的挑战。然而世纪病症才是真正严酷无情的人生试炼。弗兰奇接受了生命第一次艾滋测试，它的结果可能将一切改变......在那个年代，“Test”只要加上定冠词，所有人都会知道它指艾滋测试。《试 ·爱 ·舞》不仅关于爱之，更是关于艾滋。导演重现了80年代的时代背景，并藉此刻画在困惑与恐惧的环境下勇敢去爱的悲喜心理状态。本片获得2013年洛杉矶同志电影节（Outfest）评审团奖。
