◎简 介
风景秀丽的莲华温泉旅馆，长住着几位避暑休闲的客人，分别是脾气暴躁的读书人片田江（斎藤達雄 饰）、热爱下棋的温和老人（河原侃二 饰）和两个孙子、从战场归来养伤的纳村（笠智衆 饰）、以及广安夫妇。正值盛夏时节，来自各地的旅游团络绎不绝，搅扰着这几位长住客的生活。片田江为此大发脾气，纳村等人玩笑以对，平淡中带着些许乐趣。某天，纳村在泡温泉时被一枝遗落水中的簪子扎伤脚。不久，簪子的主人太田惠美（田中絹代 饰）从东京赶来。她似乎正为一段感情所困扰，因此干脆留下来悉心照料着纳村。转眼间，夏天接近了尾声……本片根据井伏鱒二的原作《四つの湯槽》改编。
