本片是以好萊塢為嘲弄對象的諷刺電影。內容描述飽受男友施虐的模特兒，在無法割捨與男友間的感情，常帶著憂鬱的心情上班，而這一切全被女化妝師看在眼裡。
另一方面，與臨時男演員交往的女化妝師，因男友得不到導演賞識，不是得不到機會表現，就是被放在不起眼的位置，使兩人間的情感正蒙著一層霧。某日，當模特兒上通告時，女化妝師發現模特兒的臉上因男友痛毆而掛著瘀青，為了不影響拍照進度，攝影師突發奇想，利用臉上的瘀青，作為宣傳手法，將另一名模特兒也化上「瘀青妝」以解決眼前問題。
然而，這些只是解決眼前的問題，在這五光十色的好萊塢裡，究竟又有多少人在未出頭之前就已宣告放棄？又有多少人絞盡腦汁想一炮而紅，飛上枝頭當鳳凰？！
