本部制作于1937年的抽象先锋动画短片，由德国导演奥斯卡·费钦格执导。奥斯卡一直致力于将动态的抽象几何图形达到可视化的戏剧效果。1936年后，奥斯卡前往美国派拉蒙电影公司工作。然而他对抽象艺术的探索却被敌视和埋没，不久奥斯卡离开派拉蒙去了米高梅电影公司，在那里他创作了本片《一部视觉诗歌》。
