约翰?所罗门（威尔?阿奈特 Will Arnett 饰）和迪恩?所罗门（威尔?福特 Will Forte 饰）兄弟俩的经历与别人大不相同，当年单身父亲为了满足两个孩子的愿望，带着他们赶赴北极生活，兄弟俩在父亲的教育下对世界有着和常人不同的印象，在和女性的接触中他们也因不通事故屡屡失败。这天，父亲因病陷入深层昏迷，兄弟俩想用让父亲抱孙子的惊喜使他醒转，为了尽快生个孩子，他们为了得到孩子招式尽出，约会、搭讪、领养等无所不用，约翰对邻居美女塔拉一见钟情，但后者除了愿意照顾他们父亲以外对约翰毫无兴趣。兄弟俩想到人工受精找个代孕母亲，通过网络找到了女青年珍妮，然而这次代孕风波迭起，兄弟俩的情谊也遭受了挑战……
