马修（乔什?哈奈特 饰）是个年轻有为的广告公司人员，与女友也到了谈婚论嫁的阶段。当他在一次生意洽谈的会晤中，他无意间听到了往日挚爱——莉萨（黛安?克鲁格 饰）的声音。那时两人正处热恋，可是莉萨无端在他的生活中消失了。而一直以来，马修都无法忘记莉萨。
他正怀疑那名女子正是莉萨，他决定要留下来寻找这名女子，因为他在电话亭里发现了女子的住址。
马修进入了女子的寓所，她发现了一切属于莉萨的特征，可是出现的却是另一个人，另一个叫莉萨（萝丝?拜恩 饰）的女人。马修依然不停止寻找真正爱人的脚步，但他不知道的是他早已进入了一个圈套内……
