◎简 介
欧曼力牧师奉命管理圣·玛丽学校，他对孩子们自有一套管理办法，但是这所教会学校的修女们也有她们的一套教学方法。本尼迪克特修女告诉他，为了维修学校，她们将孩子们的活动场地卖给了贺瑞斯波迦德斯先生，修女们暗自祈祷先生能将新建的大楼捐给学校，而波迦德斯先生却希望关闭圣·玛丽学校，收购学校的地将集团建在此，谁都知道他是个非常自私的老头，既固执又吝啬，但欧曼力牧师、波迦德斯先生的医生和修女们终于改变了他，波迦德斯很乐意将新建的大楼捐给学校……
圣·玛丽的钟声在新教学楼响起，孩子们终于有了明亮、宽敞的教室和运动场。每个人都感激波迦德斯先生的仁慈和慷概，波迦德斯先生也为自己的行为而骄傲。修女们为新圣玛丽欢欣鼓舞，而本尼迪克特修女却不得不离开学校，她因操劳过度得了肺炎……
