苏珊1946年出生于纽约，直到和男演员克里斯·萨兰登结婚以后才有机会接触电影。从1970年第一次参演影片开始，几十年间她一直活跃在影坛上。在她的演艺生涯中，她曾三次获得奥斯卡提名，并于以影片《死囚漫步》获奥斯卡奖。片中她与女儿爱娃·阿穆瑞首度合作，爱娃是苏珊和导演弗朗哥·阿穆瑞所生的女儿，本片是她的电影处女作。
歌蒂·霍恩(饰苏赛特)
同苏珊·萨兰登类似，1945年出生的歌蒂·霍恩如今仍然活跃在好莱坞影坛上，她的活泼、傻气和令人迷惑的天真为她建立了良好的观众缘，霍恩最早引起人们注意是在电影《仙人掌花》中，这部影片由大明星费文丽任主角，但风光却全被当时只算新人的歌蒂·霍恩抢走，该片为她赢得了当年的奥斯卡最佳女配角。不过在人们的心目中，歌蒂·霍恩更多的是以喜剧片里“傻大姐”的形象出现的，比如《列兵本杰明》、《傻妹闯七关》、《惊弓之鸟》、《第一夫人俱乐部》等等。
