在科学家集体的努力下，世界上第一辆由原子能供电的超级巴士终于成功地建造完成。所有的人想成为第一批乘坐的旅客。但就在从纽约驶往丹佛的途中，巴士遭到了遇上石油议员联盟组织设下的陷阱。原来因为原子能的成功导致了石油行业的衰落，他们因此想借此报复。结果司机不幸受伤，万幸的是，一个发明家的女孩儿及时挺身而出，驾驶核动力大巴穿过大街小巷，泳池、游乐场，令全体乘客在巴士万分惊险的情况下设法逃生。
