继《Biohazard生化危机》好莱坞电影版系列在全世界热卖后，眼见一般电影观众，对于这类生化危机题材科幻片，依然有著高度的兴趣与接受度，于是开创这《Biohazard》品牌的日本电玩公司CAPCOM，也决定亲自投入电影市场，并在08年推出全3D制作，最忠于电玩原作的3D动画电影《Biohazard：Degeneration(生化危机：恶化)》。
在日本三间剧院播放的电影《生化危机：恶化》在08年仅两周的票房为4千多万日元，之后推出的DVD及DB更卖出160多万张。而原作同名游戏系列自1996开始，全球更大卖4400多万套。从这些数字来看，《Biohazard》也絶对是受欢迎的作品。眼看《Biohazard》如此受欢迎，CAPCOM将会与Sony Pictures Entertainment再度合作，推出《生化危机：恶化》的电影续作——《Biohazard：Damnation(生化危机：诅咒)》。
据CAPCOM及Sony Pictures Entertainment的表示，《生化危机：诅咒》的电影版正在开始制作中，主角将会沿用第一集《恶化》男主角李昂，至于女主会否仍是克雷尔则有待确认，电影将预计在2012年于日本放映。
United States Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy sneaks into a small Eastern European country to verify rumors that Bio Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s) are being used in war. Right after his infiltration, the U.S. government orders him to leave immediately.
