《我們之間》是一部西班牙語的劇情片。瑪麗安娜和她的兩個孩子生活在哥倫比亞。父親為了讓家人過上更好的生活，在孩子們很小的時候就跑去美國賺錢。瑪麗安娜過夠了兩地分居的日子，一心想讓全家人團聚。終於有一天，她帶著孩子們飛到了紐約，來到了丈夫的身邊。
一家人終於團聚到了一起，瑪麗安娜這麼多年自己帶著孩子，以為幸福的生活可以從此開始。一天深夜，安東尼奧下班回到家，說自己在邁阿密找了一份工作，要一個人先去那裡，等立住腳後再接全家過去。日子一天天過去了，瑪麗安娜始終沒有等到丈夫的消息，她既擔心又絕望，於是來到朋友家，意外得知丈夫再也不會回來了。房租到期了，家裡的東西也吃光了，瑪麗安娜全身只剩下50美元，在這個舉目無親的城市裡，語言也不通，她要一個人從經濟上和精神上支撐整個家庭。她到街上去兜售自己做的餡餅,卻以失敗告終。萬般無奈，她只好把目光轉向了街道上的垃圾桶，開始靠撿飲料罐賣錢維持生計。兩個兒子也陪著她一起努力。最終，他們戰勝了一切困難，在這個城市找到了重心。影片讓觀眾見證了母子三人堅強的生活信念，他們用一個個的汽水瓶鑄就了瑰麗的人生。
