12月23日下午14：00整，桑德老先生乘坐的班机准时抵达奥兰多。此次奥兰多之行，桑德是想把自己从1889年就开始担任的"圣诞老人"这一职务，在24日晚七点以前交给在游乐场从事木偶表演的乔o卡罗索斯，否则"圣诞老人"的魔力就会丧失。走出机场后，桑德有幸上了欧内斯特的出租车，中途经过一个面包店时，一个叫帕玛拉、专靠行骗添饱肚子的姑娘又挤了上来。
桑德先生在游乐场找到了乔，可乔却因为愿意出演电影《圣诞谋杀》的主角而拒绝了桑德的托付。乔去了电影场后，桑德被乔的经纪人马丁以神志不清为名交给了警察。而此时的欧内斯特也因为没有收取桑德的报酬而被公司解雇。得知桑德被关进了监狱，欧内斯特带着桑德掉在车上装满圣诞礼物的口袋和帕玛拉一起设法将桑德救了出来。
乔的拒绝和帕玛拉后来将圣诞口袋的偷走，让桑德沮丧地回到游乐场。然而，这一切都没有打消欧内斯特对世上存在圣诞老人的坚信。在七点差三分的时候，反悔后的乔和帕玛拉先后感到桑德身边，而此时的欧内斯特则驾着桑德老人神奇的圣诞雪撬及时赶来，肩负着桑德的重托，带着帕玛拉和乔一起飞向世界各地去完成播撒快乐和幸福的光荣使命。
