莫莉（柯尔斯蒂·艾利 Kirstie Alley 饰）是一名平凡的设计师，在一次工作中，她结识了名为艾尔伯特（乔治·席格 George Segal 饰）的男子。虽然艾尔伯特已经有了家室，但莫莉还是无可救药的爱上了他。两人逾越了道德的界限走到了一起。不久之后，莫莉的腹中怀上了艾尔伯特的孩子，莫莉打算将孩子生下来，她坚信艾尔伯特不会亏待他们母子两人。
