华裔杰森（Terry Chen 饰）和白人女子莎拉（Jaime King 饰）结为夫妇，常年居住上海。为了参加一场葬礼，他们带着年仅6岁大的儿子山姆回到北美。但是离奇事件接连发生，山姆不断撞鬼，最后更在一个夜晚被鬼迷住，不省人事。杰森夫妇四处求医皆不见成效，眼见儿子病情越来越重，无奈之下他们向巫医求救。从巫医处得知，当时正值鬼月临近，野鬼横行，山姆的灵魂被一个冤死的鬼魂摄去。杰森只有帮助鬼魂们完成心愿才能拯救儿子的性命。杰森只得同意，却因此揭开了一个被隐藏多年的残忍血案……
