◎简 介
故事发生在1870年的英国，奇普斯（罗伯特·多纳特 Robert Donat 饰）来到布鲁菲学校，成为了那里的一名老师。因为年轻气盛加上没有经验，奇普斯和学生们的关系并不是太好，在学校里他始终都默默无闻。一晃眼二十年过去了，这样的情况依然没有改善。
一次偶然中，奇普斯在前往奥地利旅游的途中邂逅了名为凯蒂（葛丽亚·嘉逊 Greer Garson 饰）的男子，温柔美丽的凯蒂深深吸引了奇普斯的注意，两人坠入了情网。凯蒂的柔情与浪漫让奇普斯坚硬冰冷的心渐渐融化，在和恋人相处的过程中，奇普斯也开始悟出了和学生的相处之道。之后，奇普斯在学校里步步高升最终坐上了校长的位子。
