在一个远离城市喧嚣的寂静所在，迷离中央的木屋中，居住着美丽的聋哑女作家麦蒂·杨（凯特·西格尔 Kate Siegel 饰）。她的世界寂静无声，而在写作时心底又会有个声音充满她那静谧的内心世界。当此时的写作陷入僵局时，麦蒂起身去厨房收拾餐具，就在此时不久前才刚见过的好友莎拉（Samantha Sloyan 饰）残忍杀害。可惜任凭莎拉百般呼救，却无法引起麦迪的注意。一无所知的麦蒂回到电脑前继续工作，而那个男人则悄悄潜入室内。这时麦蒂突然收到从自己的手机上发来的短信，里面则是蒙面男子用手机拍下来的照片。
当这个女子意识到危险降临之际，她已成为任凭猎人玩弄的笼中之鸟……
