剧情叙述一个神经质的作曲家Winslow Leach，他的作品被唱片公司制作人Swan窃用，并且使他遭受到毁容。于是他躲在制作人新开的天堂剧院中，戴着面具变成如同幽灵一般。作曲家本来想借着破坏行动来报复制作人，但当他发现一个新进女歌手Phoenix，能够完美地诠释他的作品，于是他同意制作人的合作要求，然后签下了古怪的血约，立誓完成一部以「浮士德」为主题的摇滚歌剧。没想到制作人竟然又欺骗他，另请了一位重摇滚歌手Beef来代唱，而且他慢慢地发现到制作人真正邪恶的真面目......
