在巴黎古老建築的樑柱上常有優美的雕像，Varda 特別感興趣那些自 Baudelaire〔波特萊爾〕的時代，就已經默默支撐著巨大建築的女雕像。這是為一個名為《藝術中的裸體》的系列電視節目所拍攝的短片。
Varda 曰：
『我注意到這個時代的雕像就如文學一樣，只是重複一些刻版的形像。以男雕像為例，它們都是男性的背負者，在姿勢上強調它們的盡力與力量……直到一種矛盾的狀態。女雕像是女性的背負者，則是以嬌媚、優雅、美麗的姿態去背負。這很好笑，因為建築物對所有的人來說，都是同樣的重量。另外，我也觀察到，當有兩個女雕像的時候，經常會有一個是比較裸露，而且經常是右邊的那一個，這是為甚麼？』
