2056年，一场致命的瘟疫肆虐人间，死亡人数成千上万。这时，一家名为吉恩克的基因公司以救世主的形象出现世人面前。他们通过移植器官拯救了患病之人，费用可通过分期慢慢偿付。不过，一旦器官移植者断供，他们就会遭到“器官回收工”的追杀。吉恩克通过这种行当成为商界中的翘楚。
然而再为庞大的帝国终有更新换代的时刻，吉恩克的总裁罗迪?拉格（Paul Sorvino 饰）被诊断患有晚期癌症，不久于人世。罗迪三个贪婪的孩子鲁吉（Bill Moseley 饰）、帕维（Nivek Ogre 饰）和埃波儿（Paris Hilton 帕里斯?希尔顿 饰）为了遗产争得不可开交。
冷酷的罗迪不愿将公司交给这几个孩子，他想到了旧情人玛尼的孩子，年仅17岁却罹患罕见血液病的少女希洛（Alexa Vega 饰）……
