马赛洛（让·雷诺 Jean Reno 饰）是小镇上知名的好好先生，可命运待他却不厚道，在孩子去世之后，深爱的妻子也患上了不治之症。悲伤过后，马塞洛决定振作起来，他要完成妻子的遗愿——在死后能够葬在孩子的墓地旁边。可是土地珍贵，唯一的墓园里只剩下了三个空位，如何入驻成为了马塞洛目前所要面临的最大难题。
在诸多可以选择的道路面前，老实的马塞洛选择了最艰难的那一条，那就是避免小镇上的任何人赶在自己的妻子之前去世。为了保证小镇居民的生命安全，马塞洛可谓是用尽了十八般武艺，他就像救人于水火之中的超人，哪里有灾难，哪里就有他。幸运的是，在帮助他人的同时，马塞洛也得到了属于他的救赎。
