之后，玛丽再次结婚，然而，为了养家糊口而整日扑在工作上的玛丽并不知道的是，自己的丈夫竟然常常对两个继子拳脚相向。为了不让妈妈担心，懂事的巴比向妈妈隐瞒了实情，兄弟两人相互依靠扶持。巴比有一辆心爱的玩具车，麦克和巴比想要将其改装一新，希望有朝一日，这辆车能够带着他们离开暴力的继父，离开压抑的生活。
