《贝斯糗事》是一部冒险搞笑题材的影片。由利纳斯·菲利普自编自导，并出演男主角贝斯。在与朋友发生矛盾后，贝斯试图从女友那里寻找安慰，没想到被奚落了一番。他没落的走到郊区的农场，意外的捡回了一辆废旧的货车。于是他便漫无目的的开着这辆破车，开始了孤独的公路旅程。
贝斯是一个婚礼摄影师，他老实单纯，在爱上了一个有妇之夫之后，被朋友赶出了借住的地方。只身一人向着东海岸驶去，至少在那里还有自己的父母家人。慢慢的，遥远的旅程磨灭了他无尽的憧憬。陌生路人吉姆请求搭车，两人相互作伴，成为了朋友。在一个加油站，他们遇到了一位奇怪的母子，他们把贝斯带到家里，请他们吃饭，贝斯认识了其他的家庭成员。不管这些人的工作是什么，他们都很生活的很快乐。这些人形形色色的性格，让贝斯渐渐走出了独自一人的羞愧和不安，逐渐接受现实。这正是人生境况的一种象征，我们不屈不挠，对未来抱有希望，虽然过程一定不是完美的。
