◎简 介
弗兰克（罗伯特·米彻姆 Robert Mitchum 饰）是一名救护车司机，一天，一位名叫凯瑟琳（芭芭拉·欧内尔 Barbara O'Neil 饰）的妇人因为煤气中毒而坐上了弗兰克驾驶的救护车，弗兰克就此认识了凯瑟琳的女儿戴安（简·西蒙斯 Jean Simmons 饰），戴安是一个既美丽又聪明的女孩，弗兰克很快就坠入了情网，而戴安似乎也对弗兰克格外热情，没过多久，弗兰克就辞掉了工作，成为了戴安家的司机。
随着时间的推移，戴安所表现出的种种异于常人的举动和她家中凝重诡异的气氛让弗兰克开始怀疑，这个女孩根本没有外表看起来的那么天真烂漫，当他想要逃离这个巨大的漩涡之时才发现，自己早已经无处可逃。
