◎简 介
1940年代初，浙东某山村的童养媳竺春花（谢芳）因不堪虐待逃入某个越剧戏班，与教戏师傅的女儿邢月红（曹银娣）结为姐妹。不久，攻旦的春花和习生的月红双双成为戏班台柱。
戏班在绍兴演出时，当地豪绅企图凌辱月红，为掩护她，春花被人绑在桥头示众，邢师傅也被打致死，临终前，邢师傅嘱附两人要“认认真真唱戏，清清白白做人”。戏班到上海后很快唱红，戏院唐经理想借上演淫秽剧目捞取更多银子，被春花严词拒绝，但月红却贪慕虚荣堕落成为唐经理的玩物，姐妹因此反目，但两人的情分并没到此终结。
