在东京某个不起眼的魔术酒吧，从事魔术表演将近二十年的轰晴夫（大泉洋 饰）依然在底层挣扎。讷于言辞的他无法好好展示自己，看着一跃成名的后辈，晴夫心中百感交集。这一天他意外接到来自警察局的电话，原来失去联系很久的父亲在某座桥下孤独死去。站在桥下，晴夫为自己和父亲的悲惨遭遇痛哭流涕，突然从天而降的落雷击中了他。当晴夫苏醒过来时，惊讶地发现自己穿越时空来到1973年的日本。他凭借一手绝活在浅草某剧场找到表演的舞台，并且先后邂逅了美丽的女主持人花村悦子（柴崎幸 饰）以及他那不成器的父亲轰正太郎（剧团一人 饰）。晴夫和正太郎组成表演搭档意外受欢迎，而他也终于知晓了关于母亲的过去……
本片由剧团一人根据自己的小说改编而成。
