◎简 介
小学老师瑞秋（乔安娜·伍德沃德 Joanne Woodward 饰）已经三十五岁了，却依然过着形单影只的孤独生活，父亲去世，她和母亲（Kate Harrington 饰）之间的关系愈发紧张起来。在学校里，瑞秋的同事卡拉（艾丝特尔·帕森斯 Estelle Parsons 饰）似乎对瑞秋颇为倾心，但瑞秋对她则毫无感觉。
某日，瑞秋遇见了曾经的高中同学尼克（James Olson 饰），在尼克的带领和诱惑下，她第一次品尝到了激情的甜美滋味。然而，正当瑞秋决定和尼克展开一段全新恋情之时，却发现，尼克是一个彻头彻尾的花花公子，可是，即便如此，单纯善良的瑞秋依旧付出了她的真心，得到的却是无情的拒绝。人生对于瑞秋来说还很漫长，但她觉得自己已经老了。
