◎简 介
为了完成元帅交代的任务，卡普拉觉得必须马上学习与纪录片有关的东西。他首先要求陆军部让他观看里芬斯塔尔的《意志的胜利》，这部影片使他感到不寒而栗。他越是思考自己对这部影片的反应，越感到认真研究此片是解决自己面临的问题的关键。如果美国士兵观看了这部影片，他们就会更加明白为什么自己要进行战斗。当卡普拉发现美国还有几百部德国、意大利、日本拍摄的战争新闻片和纪录片时，就设法将这些影片调集到了自己手中，后来他还觉得有必要从美国的盟国那里获得有关的电影资料，于是就跟苏联大使馆以及其他国家的驻美使馆进行交涉。在这个过程中，他还走过一段弯路。一天，他被出其不意地传唤到陆军部的保安局，坐在一个戴眼镜的上校对面，一个脸上无表情的男速记员拿过来一份调查表，上校宣称卡普拉因违反军纪将被逮捕，并且要接受调查。上校取出一张照片，卡普拉一看便知，那是自己站在苏联大使馆门前的照片：“...
