这是周润发早期比较出名的英雄片之一。故事讲述的是担任保安的神枪手高飞（周润发 饰）为人侠义、一身正气，他的好友沈四（黄秋生 饰）欠下一身高利贷，被放高利贷的人抓走了，幸好高飞深入虎穴将沈四救出。沈四为了还债，央求高飞跟他一起合作协助贼人抢劫一批私运的军火，无奈下高飞答应了。整个计划进行得十分顺利，但就在得手后，高飞被贼人出卖，车子冲进了民居造成了一家人除了一名幼女全部罹难。为了弥补自己的错失，高飞决定向贼人抢回赃款补偿幼女。
