工作的压力让盖瑞感到十分辛苦，夜晚，按耐不住心中悸动的他来到了酒吧，在这里，他遇见了名为格雷汉姆（罗伯特·卡莱尔 Robert Carlyle 饰）的男子，两人一夜激情。在工作之中，盖瑞发现了少女玛利亚（凯西·泰森 Cathy Tyson 饰）正饱受着父亲的性虐之苦，碍于教规，盖瑞无法将这一事件公之于众，心中因此充满了自责。与此同时，他和格雷汉姆之间的关系被媒体曝光了，一时间，盖瑞成为了众矢之的。
