◎简 介
张婉婷“移民三部曲”之一，时间背景为中国大陆改革开放初期。
猴子（洪金宝）文革期间一声不吭离别家乡汕头台山偷渡赴美，立誓再也不回中国。16年来，他凭着中国人特有的小聪明和吃苦耐劳兢兢业业地做着的士司机，可是攒下的积蓄却是有限，不过身体倒是发福不少。熬不住思乡之苦下决心回乡时，他向伙伴借下八两金（金手表、金项链），又买大大小小物件若干好“衣锦还乡”。归家途中遭遇小波折，他借录“遗声”表达对父母、小妹的愧疚。
到家猴子发现父母陪小妹去了乡下偷生政策不许的第二胎，在今成妹夫的儿时玩伴的陪同下，他见到童年时的拌嘴表妹乌嘴婆（张艾嘉），后者像其时的许多广东人一样想去香港或美国，不过比他们幸运的是，她已拿到赴美的“签证”——未来的husband在纽约唐人街开有一家餐馆，来年春天会接她赴美，不久猴子与携弟弟的乌嘴婆一起回到乡下。与父母、小妹话过相思之苦，猴子像许多...
