旅游胜地栗津温泉町，常年迎接着来自全国各地的旅游者。欢声笑语充满栗津的上空，声色男女尽情歌舞，不知疲倦。富丸（三原葉子 饰）和鸢子（賀川雪絵 饰）、千代（橘ますみ 饰）、玉荣（英美枝 饰）等姐妹尽心款待每一位客人，在这一过程中也闹出不少笑话。与此同时，她们还经常和敌对艺伎屋的金太郎（南風夕子 饰）等姑娘发生口角和争斗，女孩的战争从不停歇。
然而，光鲜的外表下却是难以言说的凄凉。千代爱恋着英俊的吉冈医生（吉田輝雄 饰），无奈落花有意，流水无情；富丸有一个相熟的恩客，对方却因病死在自己的身边；怀孕的雪子（高倉みゆき 饰）男友阿武（南道郎 饰）是个不上进的无赖，为了钱财连孩子都可以抛弃。笑语欢歌的女孩们，各自有各自的愁绪……
