本片与科波拉的《教父》几乎同时开始制作，漫溢着后六十年代文化群落的无信仰冒险和神秘秀丽，通过电影摄影师绝世的透镜，嬉皮似乎温和的肉欲感充斥全片。并且高潮遭遇与原始部落保留的强烈的穿越文明的奥妙。平克弗洛伊德乐队的电影配乐作为背景气氛，有效地提高神秘味道和影片的大气。
