本剧根据亚瑟王与魔法师梅林的故事改编，由BBC威尔士电视台与Shine影视公司共同出品。
乌瑟国王的养女莫根娜渐渐发现了自身所蕴藏的强大力量，为了逃避乌瑟屠杀魔法师的暴行而私自去寻求古老宗教的帮助。由于同母异父的姐姐莫高斯的出现，二人便携手共同打击卡美洛王国。梅林（科林·摩根 Colin Morgan 饰）发现了莫根娜的异变，便企图阻止她的行动，为了拯救王国梅林迫不得已用毒药害死莫根娜，在关键时刻，莫高斯把奄奄一息的莫根娜给带走了。多次帮助梅林的巨龙以迫不及待的要求梅林来让它重获自由，终究梅林还是斩断了紧锁巨龙的锁链。巨龙也终究反攻卡美洛王国，最终梅林收服了巨龙成为了降龙者。
