某天，在表演又一次失败后，乔伊崩溃了，他向米琪坦白自己有了外遇，并且当即收拾行李离开了家，一夜之间，米琪成了一个被丈夫抛弃的女人。悲伤和绝望之中，米琪登上了舞台，借着酒劲进行了一番精彩绝伦的演说，逗得台下满堂大笑。俱乐部的女招待苏西（艾利克斯·布诺斯汀 Alex Borstein 饰）在米琪身上发现了过人的天赋，决定成为她的经纪人。
