篠田良多曾是一名获奖作家，但他一直沉浸在过去的光辉岁月中，并把他当私家侦探赚来的钱全都挥霍在赌博上，几乎无法支付孩子的赡养费。父亲去世后，他年迈的母亲和美丽的前妻似乎都已经继续前行，过着各自的生活。重新与之前不信任自己的家庭取得联系后，良多努力重塑他在家中的存在感，并试图在 自己年幼儿子的生活中找到自己长久的地位。但直到一个风雨交加的夏夜，他们才有机会真正重新结合在一起。
