1970年代黑人剥削电影的女王帕姆·格里尔，继主演《科菲》和《骚狐狸》两部著名黑人剥削电影后，和Cult片导演威廉·哥德尔合作了纯粹的黑人剥削电影《希巴，宝贝》。在本片之前，格里尔出演的影片基本是预算很低且带有动作场景的影片，这让她觉得自己很廉价，于是本片，格里尔自己出资大头拍摄，而片中她的角色也有所变化，不再是看上去自大夸张的，更体现出她本人的魅力。
影片上映的1975年，是格里尔告别黑人剥削电影的年份，讽刺的是，也是她告别事业巅峰期的年份，这年她主演了三部黑人剥削电影，除了本片外，还和阿瑟·马克思合作了《巴克敦》和《谍网女金刚》，《谍网女金刚》之后，她主动摆脱了黑人剥削电影的剥削。
