一次偶然中，布兰登（马修·麦康纳 Matthew McConaughey 饰）发现自己竟然拥有一项如此神奇的特异功能——他能够准确预测出每周末举行的橄榄球比赛的结果。这一能力彻底扭转了布兰登失意而又颓废的生活，同时也将他卷入了金钱和利益所构造的漩涡之中。
