1981年，导演Edo Bertogl给Jean-Michel Basquiat拍了一部自传式的电影《DOWNTOWN》，主演就是Jean-Michel Basquiat自己，那时他刚刚才21岁，但早已经声名鹊起。Basquiat从走进酒吧，身边有一茬接一茬的人坐过来跟他搭讪，他心不在蔫地应答，有人滚倒在地上打起了架，他喝光杯里的酒，走出去，在酒吧门口，他拒绝了一个打扮低级艳俗的女郎。经过垃圾堆时，一个面容俊朗但裹挟在无比肮脏里的男孩被吵醒，然后向他索吻，男孩对他说，kiss me，please？Basquiat站了站，然后竟然真地伏下身去吻他的唇，吻完之后又极度厌恶地使劲擦自己的嘴巴。可是奇迹出现了，肮脏的男孩变成了漂亮的金发女郎，他们再一次热烈亲吻，这一次，女郎不见了，地上出现了一只皮箱，塞满的钱都溢了出来，Basquiat兴奋地拎着箱子一路狂奔，留下那些流浪汉们在身后蜂拥上来彼此恶毒地争抢。镜头切换至汽车奔驰的公路，一路往前，天际线远得够也够不着……
