刘忠良在1984年执导拍摄的影片，但计划被抛弃，原始无剪辑的拍摄底片留在仓库中数十年。直到2020年，独立音像厂牌醋酸综合症的负责人发现了这些底片。在毫无文字与声音参考素材的情况下，无法还原原始剧情和剪辑构思，于是醋酸综合症的Kurtis M. Spieler靠着已有的画面素材，重新剪辑并编写出了全新的故事脉络，并且找配音演员做了对白配音，完成了配乐，成为现在本片的样貌。
