斯潘塞．特蕾西和凯瑟琳．赫本是五十年代最佳银幕情侣，本片是他俩合演的代表作之一。赫本饰演体育教师柏特，她同时也是勇气十足的新进运动员；特蕾西饰演她的经理人米基，他同时也是体育用品赞助商。米基决定用尽各种方法把柏特捧为体育皇后，中间自然产生了不少浪漫有趣的情节。在老牌导演乔治．库克挥洒自如的处理下，男女主角充分发挥了他们素有默契的喜剧感，当年不少著名的美国运动员也应邀客串亮相。
