電視製作人久野佳奈美（小林聰美飾演）目睹日本311大地震之後，被棄養在福島核電廠境內20公里內的貓狗，深深受到衝擊。所幸採訪途中，她認識了許多“不畏殘酷現實，能救的生命都不該放棄”的愛心人士。千葉的動保團體「千葉汪」，致力於為被意外送進動物收容所的貓狗找尋原飼主，至2015年為止，總共救了5000隻貓狗的生命。另外，311大地震發生之後，廣島的「犬貓孤兒救援隊」從福島核電廠境內20公里救出1400隻貓狗。看到他們認真的態度，佳奈美開始拍攝被收容之後的狗狗，像是躲過大地震摧殘的狗和飼主之間的情誼，或積極導入流浪狗陪同制的老人安養中心，記錄老人與狗狗得以重生，互相扶持的溫馨生活……而我們在被拯救的生命中，看見未來的希望。
