安妮在婴儿时期遭遇火灾导致面部毁容，之后被好心的养母抚养长大，在三十多年的时间里做了大大小小各种手术。如今即将踏入新生活的她，毅然决定来到世界整容之都——韩国首尔，来进行再一次的面部改造。她拜访了权威整容医师金医生，咨询了关于自己手术可能的方向及风险；同时她约谈了几位女孩，聊了她们关于即将进行的整容手术的看法。安妮发现，在韩国，很多本来已经足够美的女孩，为了所谓的“主流审美”，不惜冒着风险接受面部的改造，这对于几乎“毁容”的安妮来说是无法接受的。
