法国兰斯的一群毕业班的学生们对会考（BAC）态度冷漠，整日流连于固定的几处消遣场所。菲利普与伊丽莎白（Sabine Haudepin 饰）正在热恋，刻意维持时髦派头的伊丽莎白风评不甚良好，菲利普颇得女友母亲欢心，但这却导致伊丽莎白母女大吵。伯纳德（Bernard Tronczak 饰）与好友计划终止学业，前往巴黎寻找工作，他们在海边结识了一位巴黎女孩，伯纳德和她产生了一段关系，并相约在巴黎见面。女学生安格斯早早与同学结婚，但超市的收银工作很快让她厌烦。这些年青人逐渐脱离逸乐又有些空虚的生活，各自为不明朗的未来寻找出路。最终伯纳德前往巴黎，伊丽莎白重新回到课堂，她的哲学老师在新学期课堂上一字不落的照搬一年前的开场白……
