少林弟子一郎（成龙 饰）生性胆大，调皮贪玩，是师傅门下的“问题弟子”。有传闻，寺中的藏经阁里有鬼魂出没，平日里没有人胆敢靠近一步，偏偏这一郎仿佛吃了雄心豹子胆，竟然主动提出要前去看守。

在藏经阁内，一郎果然遇见了幽灵，它们分别是：龙、蛇、虎、鹤、豹。幽灵们教会了一郎失传已久的五行拳，使得一郎的武功大有进步。一次偶然中，一郎意外的发现表面上和蔼可亲的师傅竟然是江湖上臭名昭著的大盗，正义感极强的一郎决心铲奸除恶。可是，师傅的武功十分高强，居心亦十分险恶，面对如此强大的对手，一郎能够获得最终的胜利吗？
