自卑的乔大受打击，他离开了苏珊，选择和一位名叫爱丽丝的女人走到了一起。爱丽丝虽有家室，但她的性感和温柔抚慰了乔受伤的心灵，可即便如此，乔还是无法忘记苏珊，最终，他决定挤入上流社会，名正言顺的夺走苏珊。因为苏珊腹中怀上了乔的孩子，布朗不得不同意他们的婚事。
