在传统的中东的上流社会中，Reema和Omar正为他们的女儿Tala（丽莎·蕾 Lisa Ray 饰）准备婚礼。在伦敦工作的Tala通过朋友Ali认识了Leyla（茜多·塞丝 Sheetal Sheth 饰）。Leyla正努力成为一名作家，淳朴、笨拙而又敏感，这些统统吸引了Tala的注意。同时，Tala的坦率使得Leyla对自我有了真正的认识。她们相爱了，但是责任与文化道德牵制着Tala，她身不由己地回家准备着她那密锣紧鼓的华丽盛大的婚礼。随着家庭成员的拜访和婚礼日子一天天的接近，Tala的压力不断上升。婚期一天天临近，Tala如何做出人生的抉择？
