虽已身价千万，功成名就，但是大老板王浩潮（黄秋生 饰）身心始终得不到放松。在外有征地事宜搅扰不堪，内有女儿黛丝（文咏姗 饰）青春叛逆，沉湎毒品无法自拔。在一次父女争吵过后，黛丝神秘失踪，不久一段绑架录像便送到王的手中。起初以为是女儿布下的骗局，王只得被迫就范。谁知五千万赎金奉出，女儿仍不见下落。万般无奈，他委托忠心耿耿的保镖——曾经混过江湖的阿初（任贤齐 饰）调查女儿行踪，最终见到的却是黛丝冰冷的尸体。

王悲痛欲绝，发誓要让绑匪付出代价。他向所有人隐瞒黛丝已死的事实，单单倚重阿初与其一起踏上复仇的征途。因果报应，丝毫不爽……
