曾经风光无限的美式橄榄球四分位选手保罗·克洛伊（亚当·桑德勒 Adam Sandler 饰）的人生跌入谷底，他先是因假球事件饱受争议，随后又因酒驾拘捕而被送入监狱。监狱长沃顿·海森（詹姆斯·克伦威尔 James Cromwell 饰）喜爱橄榄球却残忍冷酷的家伙。他欣赏保罗的才能，于是要求他和其他囚犯组建一支球队，与狱警球队展开对抗。在保罗和同样身陷囹圄的金牌教练奈特·斯卡布罗（伯特·雷诺兹 Burt Reynolds 饰）的调教下，一支奇怪的球队在监狱中诞生了……

本片根据1974年的同名金球奖影片改编，并荣获2005年BET喜剧奖最佳男配角奖（Chris Rock）、2005年青年选择奖。职业摔角手Bill Goldberg、Kevin Nash、Stone Cold Steve Austin等人亦在片中出演角色。
