沈丁花花芽（麻生久美子 饰）是一个从不相信任何玄幻理论的职场女子，不过她深信童年时曾遭到玩具招财猫的诅咒，以至于人生总是充满坎坷。花芽原本是蒲公英出版社下一本女性时尚杂志的编辑，然而杂志销量一路走低，最终不得不关张大吉。丢掉工作的她无法完成去意大利找男朋友的梦想，又遗失了心爱的宠物小兔子。更大的打击接踵而来，她的妈妈花翠（松坂庆子 饰）跌入沼泽后陷入昏迷。花芽从母亲的信件中得知生身父亲的下落，出于好奇，她启程前去寻找。结果发现，父亲竟然是一个穿着邋遢、举止怪异、绰号“灯泡”的糟老头（风间杜夫 饰）。这对父女将会有怎样的故事发生呢？
